Ostroda - Poland Reggae Festival
Ostróda Reggae Festiwal is a well-known and appreciated event, aimed to show the best part of reggae. It’s the most cult reggae festival in our country. Old Prussian military unit, in communist times used as Polish military unit, presently closed, seems to be a great place to organize such an event. In the recent editions many leading stars could be seen and heard, for instance Izrael-Magnetosfera, Bakshish, Habakuk, Maleo Reggae Rockers, Indios Bravos, Vavamuffin, Polish Stars, Jafia Namuel and foreign guests like Steel Pulse, Yellow Umbrella, Twinkle Brothers, Over Proof Sound System, Love Grocer, Man Soul Jah, Daddy Teacha, Big Famili, Abbasi All Stars, Nucleus Roots, Manipulators, Radikal Dub Kolektiv. The audience showed their confidence in the festival, choosing it „2005’s and 2006..s the best music event in Poland” in the contest organized by „Free Coulors” magazine and deciding that the head of the event, Piotr „Piter” Kolaj, is the „Polish character of the 2005 year”. The General Consul of Jamaica in Poland, Mrs Maria Dembowska announced her honorable patronage, which shows the festival’s prestige.
